Plumbers booked in for Monday , not a problem now as it seems to have cured itself , it's probably a bit like how Bars Leaks works in as much as it's sealed itself probably debris in pipework has been sucked into leak hole and sealed it , so have left WELL alone That bloody word again.

AC engine built ready to go out he door (plenty more in unit) parcel arrived containing nicely refurbished triple S U carbs , loads of packing above carbs but nothing underneath , Muppets , would have probably survived had they put the address label on the bottom.

Would happen to be on the hens teeth section, and to make matters worse ,they were instructed to just replace worn parts with min restoration , and they now look brand spanking NEW , lost all that 80 year old patina .
Oh well, back sorting stuff on Monday , don't normally do holidays ,but had a week out .

Thats a complete bummer Bob, as they say, you cant teach stoopid and Amazon do it all the time, paper thin cardboard and some scrunched up paper, handed to drivers who soak the boxes.... oh I could go on

Shame on the carbs. damn shame. They must know how rare they are.

Nice news on the leak. Your right, probably enough ferrous debris floating around to jam up a leak, the new system that the plumber pout into my other house hsa some funky filter/magnet based cleaner fitted to the return so it never gets to the pump. Apparantly thats the way to go now to save pump failure. I live to learn new things, I am sure I seen this before and it was just a big tank so in at bottom out at top, crap stays at bottom but hey ho now its small, funky with amagnet that no doubt neeeds someone to clean every year rather than the tank thats once a decade !

Still, I have 7 radiators now to change downstairs and dreading it.

i will resit the tempation to use that word

Exactly what the plumber boys over on the Merc. forum told me the other day. Magnaclean installed, easy for the user to clean and treat the system with inhibitor. Can also use the Magnacleanse once a year for a deep flush. Can be better than a pressure flush where the extra pressure could cause a weak pipe to fail.
