  • Cheapskate budget oil scroll leakage deflector plate

Dont know about your Imp engines but the pesky rear crank scroll does tent to leak a tad , over time the oil coming out ends up everywhere , usually near or on the rad - not the best idea .
So rather than try and stop it leaking ( close to impossible anyway ) I made a plate which stops the oil getting flung everywhere.
OK so it still leaks but can only escape at the bottom .

I remember the discussion on this one kicked off by the great scroll scandal

On DDG I ended up making a mesh one fit, to be honest might pull it back off and do something like this as the mesh one is a poor fit with the BSK installed

Great idea and I'd like to do something like this myself. Does the oil that now comes out the bottom not just go everywhere as well, as it's likely the wind running under the car that blows it everywhere? I'm trying to think of a way to catch and contain all of the oil and hold it in place, so that I can empty it at regular intervals.

Doesnt seem to spray all over the place like it used to and certainly much less ends up sprayed everywhere , so far everything around it has stayed clean , does drip out the bottom though when parked but again only in one place , if you come up with a way of catching it id be interested
