    External boot lock

Some Imps came with an external boot lock however many did not including my Chammy .
This took a bit of working out as i had to keep the badge on the dummy grill in exactly the same place or it would look wrong , turns out i had to lower the lock around 10mm to achieve this .
Then came boring a big hole in the front panel as well as the grill plus hunting out a swivel badge surround and the rubber spacer so the swivel clears the grill.
Still one of my best mods - sooooooo much easier than leaning over the passenger , getting in the glove box around the radio and fumble for the pull cable .

In the process of carrying out this mod l changed the design a bit as l assumed the hinge part would be at the top
(makes sense to me that gravity would help keep it closed) anyway , l need to make an aluminium ring spacer with a tapered shape so that when you swivel cover it misses body work , also bit different.

Hinge is always at the bottom , the lid is sprung and it has a triangle shaped key way , never had one drop
