Engine lid buffers

Factory ones are all a bit vague especially the bottom ones not to mention they look a tad rubbish .
Anyway I had some rubber feet of an old guillotine that were an identical fit slot wise as the old one .
These i popped in but they were a tad fat - easy solution as i just cut a slot in each one for the engine lid edge .
For the top ones i fitted larger buffers then cut the legs off the old one and stuck them on the engine lid .
Closes as before but now rattle free and held still
Also added some thin stainless on the engine lid - protects the paintwork

Dave, I need to get some of these, how tall are the originals suppossed to be and what diametr is the hole it needs to pop through.

I was going to order some samples to try but no idea on height

Might be a waste as I I have a fibreglass engine cover.

I was thinking about using two of the ones with the threaded end moulded in on my fibreglass bonnet to level it up, Cant twist it like steel

Of course theres one other area that gets a right pasting paint wise - the engine lid catch plates on the rear panel so nout for it but make some covers , crimped and bonded on it doesnt move at all , one down - one to go

Dave, that is indeed a top mod 9same as the bonnet safety catch area) both get the crap hammered out of them.
