Supposedly the Imps main issue has been over heating and 15 or so years ago the Vusky would get a tad warmer than normal if i hammered it up a motorway for hours on end .
This turned out to be caused by a semi blocked rear rad.
Anyway in the mean time I thought id try an auxiliary front rad - well actually just an Imp heater matrix fitted into the front air box .
As is normal with these things the idea was so much easier than actually doing the job . Matrix has to be boxed in for one thing or the air just goes around it , then the air has to get out.
Plus the plumbing in got complicated as this thing has the additional strengthening plates on the front inner wings .
Its just linked in using the standard heater pipes however you cant go against the flow , water will always take the easy route , i wanted it so i could turn it off when not needed and still have a working heater which i could also turn off - or turn the lot off .
Come the end and my lack of budget at the time I did the usual bodge of using household plumbing bits to fit it in , it all operates via a screwdriver and one day i might well solenoid valve it all and just run it all from switches .
Yeh its a bit of a botchup but it REALLY does work , engine never gets above the stat rating no matter how hot it is outside - even at 30˚C and 70mph .
Having since fitted a new rear rad its used very rarely now , usually only if its plus 25˚C outside and im blatting it one .
Ive often thought about taking it out but with all this global warming i guess id better leave it be
Fits in here on a frame -----------------------------------------------------------------I just twisted the grill stats for extra air

Side view -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Vents out the top and into the boot , boot lid isnt sealed at the rear so the hot air gets out

The plumbing nightmare with flow arrows , its worked perfectly for 15 years , its all hidden behind the boot trim , i would do this neater and better now but why faff if its problem free

I never fitted one to the Singer
