So the Singers wiper motor was making strange noises and this was tracked down to a worn armature shaft .
No probs as we might have some at work and after much hunting found a S/H one with a near perfect shaft , winding was shot thats no issue .
Also they have been a tad slow , wether due to the shaft wear or something else im not sure however every test I did came up with nothing , no stiff wheelboxes or cable , voltage fine etc etc .
Anyway as the armature needed a rewind and having got the original winding spec I altered it in the hope of more speed .
And it worked - almost too well ?, nice to have decent wipers at last
One very worn Shaft , ----------------------------------------------------------------- its replacement was perfect ,this image is after the rewind obviously

Comm turned and undercut Tother end , known as the Comm end -------------------------------------And this is the back end

End Result
As they were on the old armature , this is engine off. rather slow to say the least
Much Better , same as above , engine off - background noise is my neighbour who decided just then to pressure wash his car
And end result, sorted !
