  • Headlamp bowl mod

OK so its already been done on here but to keep all my mods in one place id thought id add mine as well .
This is only needed if your running halogen headlights , makes changing a bulb a doddle with no need to remove the headlight ala. sealed beams . running halogens also means you can put the sidelights in the headlights giving a much bigger visible sidelight .
Headlight bowls are NOT handed , its the same bowl for both sides , its just the mount its on is handed .
Doing the Drivers side ( RHD ) headlight is easy however the passenger side is a little more complicated . just remember you MUST leave the spring tag in situ or you will get a very wobbly headlight .
I used a 1mm thick cutting disc on a grinder - takes seconds
    Pictures tell the story better

    Drivers side

Passenger side is more involved , you need to drill a mirror image wire entry hole and flare it slightly like the original , i just used a suitable socket and a hammer .

Then cut the other side out that was the original cable hole

Sandblast , etch prime then paint

Then fit . if your fitting the sidelight in as well part of the silver mount will need removing to clear the bulb , passenger side in

Drivers side , note the spring and tag which must remain however much you chop out

Whilst your at it do away with the headlight earth on top the inner wing and add a dedicated earthing point for the headlight / indicators / electric washers etc ( further posts later will show you how )
