  • Higher standard seats

So either im a short arse , my seats are saggy or I just like sitting high when driving ( Ironic as ive lowered the car )
Anyway I wanted the rear of the seat higher to account for the seats very soft ( and comfy ) base.
Cue lots of lateral thinking , had to be reversible , bolt on ideally , had to be safe , strong enough to hold the weight and look at least half decent .
Eventually I came up with these --- handlebar hight adjuster for motorbikes , had to chanpher just the top clamp and just for safetys sake in case they loosen off a centre bolt which locks into the inner indent on the seat .
They " might " be a tad high but i want to try it first , easy to solve - just machine a few MM off the base

As it is I sink into the seat base , they are very springy so my arse vanishes The lean back has always been too much on the base , they do recline though so thats adjustable

Dave, any chance the seat backs have just sunk after you renewed the carpets etc. ?

I found the plastic never really lived up to being a wear/load spreader and dropped some spare 2mm plate under those 2 spots under the carpet on JDL as my ever increasing butt size was putting in a dent.

My plan B was then some 40mm box section with a slot cut in top for the seats to sit in, held by tie-wraps, it was ugly, worked but ugly so no pictures.

This is a far better solution, well done again

Used it for work today - slightly too high so i machined 10mm off the base with the lathe , Its perfect for me , my seats sagged terribly over the decades so i added extra springs wrenched from a scrapped Honda in 2010 , been fine since in the fact of no extra sagging
